Admission requirements to VSS Creative Photography & Design College are less stringent than for university studies, because all VSS courses are vocational (career-focused).

- English literacy – competency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing
- Computer literacy – knowledge of using common keyboard commands, search engines, word processing, and browser basics.
- Mathematical literacy - at least at level 3.
- Senior Certificate or equivalent (A Grade II statement of results may be submitted for evaluation and possible admission.)

You do not need a portfolio for the qualifications in photography and design techniques.

Duration of study:
Each National Qualification is a full time program over one year.

Distance Education Students can complete each of these qualifications over a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 2 years.

2017/2018 Registration:
VSS currently has two intakes per year - in June/July 2017 and January 2018. Applications for new registrations open in May / November and close on 15 July / 15 December. A maximum of 24 students are registered per intake, you should therefore not delay your application.

  1. Do you comply with the admission requirements?    If yes:
  2. Inform the College by email of your intention to enrol for a qualification program. Full details will be sent to you for your perusal and discussion with your parents / sponsors.
  3. Visit the College with your parents / sponsors for an information session if possible.
  4. Complete the Enrolment Contract. Make sure you fill in all the fields in this form. Please ensure that all information is correct, truthful and verifiable.
  5. Send your completed and signed Enrolment Contract by email to [email protected] together with:
    1. Copy of your ID
    2. Statement of Results – Grade 12 (or 11)
    3. National Senior Certificate or equivalent
  6. The Enrolment Contract is a binding contract between you, your parent/sponsor and VSS.
  7. Pay the Confirmation Fee and send proof of payment to VSS. Use your surname and initials as reference on the payment.
  8. You  will receive a letter confirming your enrolment as a student at VSS.

Full details of the test will be provided you before you arrive.

Commencement of the 2017/2018 Programs:
JULY INTAKE: 21 August 2017

JANUARY INTAKE: 22 January 2018

Distance Education Students:
Follow the same procedure for admission and enrolment. Commence date of a program will be the date that study materials were despatched to the student. Admission and enrolment take place throughout the year.

Year Program
The Year Program is available at year plan 2018.

College Holidays
College holidays correspond broadly with school terms. Students receive holiday projects for each holiday during the year which might include hours at approved workplaces.
